Good modelling for Animation
As I stated in a previous article , the character modeled for animation is modeled to deform well in any type of animation. A ‘good modelling for animation’ example is Kitty Galore (the negative character) from ‘Cats and Dogs 2‘ where the crew from Tippett Studio (the creators of TED/Smurfs/Priest and other movies) are showing the breakdown and the entire work flow in order to have a good modelling for animation. Their work is amazing, and the different techniques that they’ve used such as muscle systems, animation performances, expression drive facial wrinkles are showing how hard is to achieve something believable and realistic.
